Barrington Colonial Remodel

Project overview

The design process for this existing colonial residence commenced with the renovation of the first floor, which now houses a spacious chefs’ kitchen with a sunken breakfast area separated by distinctive columned arches. A new sitting room with a fireplace, adjacent to the open kitchen, invites conversation and serves as an enjoyable entertainment space. The second floor of the addition accommodates the craft room, which has access to a balcony overlooking the backyard pool. Finally, a bluestone front porch was incorporated into the design, featuring paneled columns that punctuate the entrance and provide a large, covered sitting area. Exterior working shutters, arched gable treatments, and playful colors contribute to the colonial residence’s charm.
